Find the Gold Teeth. The Warden in Fuchsia City has lost his Gold Teeth in the Safari Zone. If you find and return them he will give you HM04, which contains Strength. The Gold Teeth are located deep in the Safari Zone.
- When you first enter the Safari Zone, walk to the right and then up until you find the exit on the right edge of the screen.
- Walk to the right on the new screen until you find the stairs in the rock. Go up the stairs and then walk back to the right. Go down the other set of stairs, walk around the cliff and then walk towards the top of the screen. Climb the stairs in the next rock area, and then climb down the other stairs to the right. Circle back around the rocks and exits the screen on the left side.
- Walk left on the new screen, passing the first set of stairs in the rock. Walk up until you see the second rock formation. Climb the stairs and then walk to the left and down. Climb down the stairs in the rock. Walk straight up, keeping the bushes on your left. You will pass two small lakes, and then the bushes will curve to the right. Follow them around until the bush wall ends. Circle around the wall and then head back to the left. Follow the path back down until you reach the exit at the bottom of the screen.
- Walk straight down a few steps and you will see a Poke Ball. Pick it up to find the Gold Teeth.
- If you haven't gotten Surf yet, continue to the left of the screen until you find a house. Enter the house and talk to the man to receive HM03, which contains Surf.
- Walk around until you run out of steps. This will automatically exit you from the Safari Zone.
Celadon City[edit]
Welcome to the biggest city in Pokémon Land.
Not only is there tons of stuff to discover and battles to be won, but Celadon City actually features a Pokémon Super-Store as well. Here, you can pretty much buy anything you can imagine.
Well, okay. Maybe not everything. But it's still the best place to shop in the whole game.
Celadon Mansion[edit]
Have you ever dreamed of meeting the people that programmed Pokémon? Here's your chance -- at least kind of...
Inside Celadon Mansion, the large building in the north, you can talk to virtual members of the Game Freak team. You'll be told to return once you get all 150 Pokémon. What will you get? A certificate, of course. But there's a much better secret slumbering in this mansion. Sneak into the building through the back door and you will get your hands on one of the coolest Pokémon in the game: Eevee. With the help of three mysterious stones, you can evolve Eevee into another, even more powerful Pokémon:
- Thunder Stone: Evolve into Jolteon
- Fire Stone: Evolve into Flareon
- Water Stone: Evolve into Vaporeon
The vote for best evolution goes to the insanely fast Jolteon but all three are great additions to your team. Sadly, you can only find one single Eevee in this game. Players who want to get all three evolutions AND still keep an Eevee should grab a copy of Pokémon Stadium for Nintendo 64. You can easily win multiple Eevees by completing the Gym Leader Castle mode in that game. But that's a topic for another guide...
Celadon Department Store[edit]
If you've got a lot of cash to burn, this is definitely the place to be. The sheer amount of stuff you can buy in this giga-sized Pokémon Mart... And it's not just the usual power-ups.
Here are a few things you should definitely do while in the store:
- Don't forget to talk to the clerk on the 3rd floor. He will give you TM 18 - Counter -- for free!
- Buy a Thunder Stone on the 4th floor (or, if you're not into turning your Eevee into a Jolteon), get a Water Stone or Fire Stone.
- Buy a Poké Doll. You will need it in Saffron City.
- Go to the roof level and buy one beverage from each vending machine. Give them to the thirsty little girl to receive TM 48 - Rock Slide, TM 49 - Tri Attack and TM 13 - Ice Beam.
- Buy an extra drink (Water is fine) for the guards that block your passage into many of the towns. Note that one drink does the job for ALL guards.
- Stock up on Lemonade. It heals 80 HP and costs only 350. It's definitely the most economic healing potion in the game.
- If you've got cash to burn, buy some performance enhancers, like Protein, Iron, Carbos or Calcium.

Get TM 41 - Softboiled[edit]
The awesome Softboiled ability is hidden right in the middle of Celadon City. However, you can't get it unless you've got a Pokémon that knows Surf. Once you do have it, simply cross the little pond and talk to the guy on the other side.
Get the Coin Case[edit]
You need find a coin case if you're planning to win big at the Casino. It's really easy to get. Just enter the Restaurant in the southeast of Celadon City and talk to the gambler. Be sure to visit the warehouse next door to get a vital hint.
Game Corner[edit]
Here's your chance to win tokens that can be exchanged for some hard to find Pokémon. The slot machines in the game center have different odds, so be sure to abandon a machine that's not paying off at all. Your best bet is to always save your game before you play at a machine. Reload your saved game whenever you lose too much money. Save again if you take in a major win. This way, you can rack up quite a lot of tokens -- and you'll need them if you want to get your hands on some of the great prizes available in the Exchange Corner:
- Abra: 180 (Red), 120 (Blue)
- Clefairy: 500 (Red), 750 (Blue)
- Nidorina: 1200 (Red only)

Team Rocket's Hideout[edit]
To access Team Rocket's secret hideout, examine the poster in the Game Corner. You will find a secret switch and a way in. The place actually looks more complicated than it really is. The only thing that may throw you off are the conveyor belt tiles that automatically move you. Just experiment with different paths and you should be able to find plenty of items and get through the whole stage.
You need a key to get to the boss, so do that first. To get it, follow the stairs down to the northwestern corner of the fourth basement level. With the key in hand, return to the top floor and take the elevator down to B4.
Items[edit]
There are a ton of items in this stage, including the mysterious Silph Scope you need for the Pokémon Tower. Apart from the Lift Key, here's what you can find:
